the calm before the storm...

i have actually experienced that before. i was about 12. hurricane andrew came through louisiana... the eye of the storm passed right over baton rouge (which is where i was living at the time). we went outside as the eye passed over the neighborhood, and it was so eerily calm. everything felt so on edge, like even the air was all wrong. for about fifteen minutes it felt like i was in a movie on pause...

as a result of the storm, we had no power for about a week... and no water for at least a few days longer. we were taken from our house by boat through the middle of our street...

i can compare life to that situation sometimes.
